Gender Diversity & SSHRC Celebration

OCTOBER 25, 2016, Vancouver B.C.

DC celebrated Fair Employment Week and our recent SSHRC funding by featuring speakers to talk about Gender Diversity as it intersects with precarious employment.

The event included a fun, facilitated networking activity to allow you to connect with more peers from BCIT, Industry, and the wider community on the topic of Diversity, and an update on Diversity Circles next steps — all with a celebratory theme (and food).

  • Aaron “Splash” Moody  – Traditional Welcome
  • Trina Prince, BCITSA – Inclusion & Pride
  • Cherylann Thomas, Nak’azdli, BCIT Aboriginal Student Mentor
  • Kate Duncan, BCIT Alumni, Designer – Women in Trades
  • Xinying Hu, SFU Faculty, Labour Studies – Precarious Work & Gender
  • Kenzie Woodbridge, FSA Director

Diversity Circles is thrilled to announce that over the summer we were named as a recipient of  Community and College Social Innovation Fund (CCSIF) funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC)!

Couldn’t join us? Check out the video from the session! We are in the process of having captioning added to the video. Thank you for your patience!
